BRITS-Online is a company that offers candidates the opportunity to achieve an Advance Certificate of Competence in General Refractories Engineering provided by remote online learning. There are 4 units in total with an assignment provided for each unit. Once the 4 units and the exam has been completed a certificate will be issued. For more detail click on Course Information.

BRITS (meaning Broadbent Refractory Industrial Training Services) has been developed following a training course that was previously established in the UK from 1997 until 2008.

Michael Broadbent has been involved in refractories since 1989 in the UK and following many years of travel he decided to support his experience with qualifications. He completed Iron & Steelmaking City of Guilds London Institute closely followed by Advanced Certificate of Competence in General Refractories Engineering. He currently holds the position of National Training Coordinator for the Institute of Refractories Engineers based in Australia.

During his career he has contributed towards the development and launch of the following handbooks

- Bonding of Furnace & Civil Engineering Brickwork

- Inspection of Refractory Installations as Work Proceeds

Holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and working with Manufacturing Skills Australia to develop PMC10 Manufactured Mineral Products, BRITS-Online believes that the time is right to provide an Online Learning Service in Refractories Engineering to the various industries in Australia and overseas. API 936 Certified.
